Kenya here I come

 Heading back to Kenya in June 2026 with Take Heart Africa, a fair trade shop in Lakeland, FL, that has a ministry in Kenya.

During the trip, we will be ministering to widows, orphans, and students by taking part in student conferences, building relationships with orphans, and seeing how the empowerment of widows is making a difference in Kenyan lives. The two-week trip will include ministry in Nairobi and an eight-hour journey outside the capital to a village where a school is being built. Our accommodations will be in a village conference center located at the school and orphanage.

Last year, I met so many wonderful students and look forward to seeing them again soon. To see how there faith has grown in the Lord, how they have overcome obstacles they thought were in their way and just how the Lord is moving amongst his children.

The focus of the trip is sharing the love of Jesus and empowering widows through entrepreneurship opportunities so they can provide for their families.

Kenya Possibility in 2026

 So, tonight I went to an interest meeting to go back to Kenya in June 2026.  

Some exciting news, ground breaking on the school is to take place in January 2026, so we would be able to prayerfully see some progress on the school building in June 2026.  That is so exciting.

The trip is approximately $5000.00 with a deposit of $2000.00 due by January 20.

Please join me in prayer as I seek the Lord if this trip is what He desires for me this next year.  I know with God all things are possible.

I love it when other's can join me on these adventures and have come up with partnership's that are needed.

Dubai Hotel

Arrived at the hotel, Damac Maison asking city.  The hotel is beautiful.   I have a balcony overlooking the east side of the city and was able to see the sunrise.

We will be eating breakfast soon and then heading out this morning for an excursion.  I believe it will be ATV riding in the desert and camel riding.  Then back to the hotel to shower and catch the next plane to nairobi.

More adventures later today.

malaria prevention and flight checkin

Today is the day..

Start the malaria prevention medicine.

We do not want this again, so I will happily take that medicine.

Next up, tonight is the 48 hour window to checkin for flight.  

Wait, that means I am down to a couple days to take off.  I am packed, but will review luggage and weights tonight to ensure I have what I need.  

So, soon I will be off to see my new Kenyan friends.

This is the week

Oh, how I have waited for this week to get here. 

To say I'm excited to serve the Lord in Kenya, is a dream come true.

Kenya has been in my heart for as long as I can remember.   

I love the animals, that is what initially drew me to the country.  Then I was able to spend some time observing OCC ministry in Kenya and I fell in love. 

I felt at home and never got homesick.  That is the Lord.

I'm excited to see what he does in my heart this year as I go with a different group and get to do ministry differently. 

Please check this site for updates.  I'll try my best to update daily,  as I have wifi, of course.  

Please pray for the team, there are 11 of us going.

Pray for safety during our travels.

Pray for good health and no sickness.

Pray that the gospel will be preached with power and hearts receptive to his love.

I just ask that anytime the Lord bring our team to your mind that you stop then and pray for us.

My church, Eastside Baptist Church in Plant City, now has an option in their online giving to give towards my trip to Kenya this summer.

This will allow your gift to be tax deductible and they will cut the check to me so I can make payments on my trip.

The trip cost is $4500-$5000, depending on the price of the plane ticket.  All arrangements are being made thru the group I am going with from Take Heart Africa.  

This will be my first trip with them and so looking forward to returning to Kenya this year.  

I had the privilege of going in June 2024 with Operation Christmas Child and fell in love with the country.  I only had the opportunity on that trip to be there for 4 days, but knew that I would return.

When I did return home, I was presented with this opportunity to return with Take Heart Africa.

Kenya Trip Dates announced

 Trip dates to Kenya have been announced, we will be going June 14-28, 2025.

Kenya bound

I will be returning to Kenya.

December 27, 2024 - January 10, 2025

I will be going with Take Heart Africa.

We will be heading a team meeting in August, so will know more information after that.

One thing I do know is the trip cost is approximately $4500.00.
